Fully functional eCommerce platform for customized signage systems.
Web Application
Client
2/90 Signs partners with their clients to design and implement way finding solutions that can be tailored to fit the needs of any organization.
Challenge
Design an e-commerce experience that empowers customers to design highly-detailed products in real time, while accelerating the sales process for the 2/90 team.
We worked to model the experience of the showroom in a digital environment—connecting customers with every signage possibility imaginable and streamlining the checkout process.
Reimagining the customer experience.
290’s signage offerings are expansive, but their web-app lacked important functionalities that disrupted the journey from design to sale and required significant effort from the internal team to fill in the gaps where the tool fell short.
After conducting a thorough evaluation of the former Design Center and identifying pain points for both customers and sales reps, we decided on a complete overhaul of the user experience and essentially started from scratch.
We took inventory of every technical specification possible for each sign type, determined the logical order in which they should be presented to the user, and organized them into approachable categories to reduce the potential for decision fatigue and redundant actions.
Following the sign customization process, we designed an intentionally simple checkout experience supporting payment by credit card or invoice, and optional dealer discounts depending on the user’s needs and relationship to 290.
With the user flows solidified, we created a neutral but modern UI that allows the signs themselves to be the focal point and puts functionality first.
By far the most robust aspect of the app itself is the sign editor.
The user can apply attributes to multiple signs at once, edit each sign individually, and specify every detail from finishes to font size. SVGs are rendered real-time as the user interacts with the product, generating highly realistic mockups of what their signage system will look like.
When the user is ready to place and order, they can checkout within the app—paying by invoice or credit card.
On the backend, 2/90 dealers can manage users and accounts, apply discounts for specific customers, review orders placed, and send detailed order requests to their manufacturing departments.
The result
Overall, this product has increased orders for sales reps, streamlined the production process, and reduced the barriers to business for both salesperson and consumer.
